About Mike + The Mechanics
Formed in 1985 as a “side project” by Genesis’s Mike Rutherford, Mike + The Mechanics quickly became a powerhouse in the music world. With Paul Young and Paul Carrack as the original frontmen, they soared through the 80s and 90s with chart-topping hits and over 10 million albums sold worldwide.
The tragic loss of Paul Young in 2000 brought a temporary pause, but in 2011, Mike reignited the band with the addition of the talented Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar. The chemistry was undeniable, leading to the release of The Road album and a triumphant return to touring.
Mike Rutherford Shares His Excitement:
“It’s exciting to announce that we will be touring The Mechanics again,” says Rutherford. “Getting back on the road with the guys last year was a real pleasure. Even though it had been four years, we slotted back into the old ways, the old jokes, and the camaraderie like it had been a day! We had so much fun on the last tour, and the audiences were so gracious and warm. When we played the final show in Düsseldorf, we all agreed that we wanted to do it all again.
